Application Requirements
To apply for membership within the American Women’s Club of Berlin, you must:
- Maintain an active U.S. passport
- Be the spouse (current or former) of a U.S. citizen
Regular Membership
Regular membership within AWC Berlin is exclusively available to women with a U.S. passport, or individuals who are/were married to U.S. citizens, have American children or a parent or grandparent who maintains active U.S. citizenship.
Associate Membership
If you are a woman living in Germany who is interested in joining the Club, but you do not meet the above Regular Membership Application Requirements, there is still a chance that you could join! Janel Schermerhorn is happy to share that there is also an Associate Membership tier open to interested parties who are either not American citizens or affiliated directly with anyone who is. Associate Members are able to enjoy the full scope of benefits offered by AWC Berlin, including normal club privileges, such as voting privileges. Associate Members can even run for and hold an Board position within the organization — except for President or Vice President.
