In 2025, The American Women’s Club of Berlin celebrates 131 years of community and generosity. Last year, the organization hosted a 130th Anniversary Charity Gala at Bridge Studios on September 21st. Former President Janel Schermerhorn shares the details:

131 Year Celebration
The American Women’s Club of Berlin is celebrating 131 years since the organization’s foundation. In the years that have followed since its establishment in 1894, the Club has acted as a beacon, a lighthouse and a sacred meeting place for American women living in Berlin. Janel Schermerhorn, former President of the organization, looks forward to sharing details of the upcoming 131 year celebration, as information is released.
130th Anniversary Charity Gala
In 2024, the American Women’s Club of Berlin celebrated its 130th anniversary with a charity gala at Bridge Studios in Berlin. The event was a spectacular success, with a full house of members and guests in attendance to share laughs, heart, generosity and a sense of community. The Silent Auction of the event raised over 4,200 Euro.
Volunteer TEAM
Janel Schermerhorn would like to take this opportunity to send warm thoughts of gratitude to the Gala TEAM of Volunteers. Schermerhorn says thank you to My-Linh Kunst, Robina Lillecrapp, Karen Axelrad, Bella Davis, Mina Hampl, Meghan Harvey, Nicole Haussermann, Barbara Irigoyen, Annette Winistorfer, Alex Kinney, Linda Sheehan, Kristy Kropat, Parchi Shah and Antje Seidel. If not for these incredible people volunteering their time, the American Women’s Club of Berlin would not be thriving in 2025 — like it is today! As former President, Schermerhorn’s heart is warmed by the incredible efforts that are ongoing within the organization.
